Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I connect a personal device like my phone to the Wi-Fi?
A: If you would like to connect your phone or another personal device to the wireless, you will need to use the public network labeled "gsd-public". In your network settings, once you select to connect to gsd-public it will load a screen that will let you choose between "Guest Access" and "register a device". You will select guest access and should be good to go.
Note: This network will disconnect you after 12-24 hours. You will need to reconnect to this network once a day for it to work on your device.
Q: Can I leave my computer logged in overnight?
A: No. You should shut down your computer each night unless stated otherwise for an update. One of the main reasons is that it is a security risk.
Q: Is it ok to leave my Digital Display on I am not going to use it for an extended period of time?
A: No. It is more similar to a TV than the projection units were, so it is a lot easier to turn on and off at will!
Q: What if I have other questions regarding my Digital Display?
A: Please submit a solar wind to have the correct tech for your building reach out with some guidance. Otherwise, you can also contact Chris Wysocki (cwysocki@greenfield.k12.wi.us) for further training/help in regard to the Newline displays!
Q: I am in my web browser and I do not see my address bar or the Windows task bar on the bottom, what happened?
A: You entered the full screen mode for the web browser. Press the F11 key on your keyboard and you will exit out of the full screen mode. If you press it again, you will enter back into full screen mode.
Q: My mouse will not move or if it does move, it snaps back to the original position it was in.
A: Make sure there is nothing touching the Smart Board. If something is touching the board, move it off the board and your mouse will function as expected.
Q: The School District webpage is down, how do I access Infinite Campus?
A: To access Infinite Campus you need to go to the following web site:
Infinite Campus
You will want to bookmark this page so that you can access it when the web site is not functioning.
Q: How do I change my password?
A: When on-site, on a desktop, select "Ctrl-Alt-Del and the third option is to "Change Password." Fill in the blanks to complete, this will replicate through the system to change your password for the network/email and other district resources.
Note: You will not be able to change your password off site.
Q: How long do graduating students have before their accounts are deleted?
A: Any graduating student that will no longer be with the district will have their account deleted 6 months after the last day of school. It is recommended that any students that need to transfer any files/emails from their school account to a personal account does so prior to the last day of school.
Any other questions you may have, please submit a ticket to SolarWinds and the appropriate department will respond.
