Forensics is an after school extracurricular activity that is open to all students in grades 6-8. It is a public speaking competition in 18 different categories ranging from poetry to persuasive oratory, from acting to news reporting. The students learn to communicate with confidence, poise, and effective delivery.
The students compete in meets and are scored by judges. Then they receive ribbons and trophies for their hard work. Practices begin in December. Meets are typically held on Saturdays throughout February and March. Students that earn a certain score are invited to the State Forensics Meet that is held at the end of March/Beginning of April.
