Maple Grove Mighty Hawks show character. Each day we recite our Mighty Hawk Affirmations and try to live up to our Mighty Hawk Characteristics. The Mighty Hawk Characteristics are:
Collaboration - Cooperating with others, listening to others, and working with others to solve problems.
Community - Caring for our school, taking care of our school building and playground. Making sure other students are able to learn.
Creativity - Being eager to explore, produce, build, design, develop and initiate learning to find answers and solve problems.
Growth Mindset - Working hard independently, keep trying when things are challenging, asking questions and being a problem solver.
Kindness - Being respectful to others and considering other’s feelings when making decisions.
Responsibility - Taking ownership of behavior and learning. Being prepared and working to the best of your ability.
Throughout the year we recognize students for demonstrating these characteristics. Students may be recognized at a Hawk Pride Assembly, with a Hawk Pride Ticket or in the daily announcements. During announcements, we recognize students, teachers, staff, and figures in our community or throughout history are recognized for showing these characteristics.
Students are currently working on a Hawk Pride Service Project. When students earn a Hawk Pride ticket, they can put it in a bucket to help earn themselves or their class a prize or they can put their ticket in a bucket to earn a item to help children at the Ronald McDonald House. When a class has collected 10 tickets, they can donate a needed item such as toothbrush or playing cards. This project is designed to help develop a sense of charity and giving for others.
