Welcome to Edgewood School, where we work to ensure that everyone grows both academically and socially/emotionally. Elementary school lays the foundation for our society and every child can learn at high levels. I'm in my 10th year as principal at Edgewood Elementary, and I couldn't be prouder of our community, our staff, and our students. We've been recognized both in our state and nationally for our work with Character Education, which positively impacts both school climate and academic growth.
A bit about me: Growing up in California, I did some moving around before finding my home in Wisconsin. I received my Bachelor's from Northwestern University in Chicago, and then moved to the DC area, where I received my Master's in Special Education at George Mason University and later, my Post-Mater's Certificate in Educational Administration from George Washington University. Prior to becoming the principal at Edgewood, I worked as a Special Education teacher, an Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal. I live in Milwaukee with my husband Larry and our four children--Piper, Adam, Liza, and Audrey-- and a rather energetic dog, Gambit.
I believe that successful schools involve the entire community--students, staff, parents, and community members. I invite you to stop in, introduce yourself, and get involved!
