Students will be returning to Maple Grove beginning on Wednesday, October 7. The School Board has established a “soft start” to our return to school. This means small groups of students will be returning to school next week. This will allow teachers to explain our safety protocols to students and help them get to know their students in person. The schedule for our return is
- Wednesday, October 7 - Students whose last name begins with the letters A-H
- Thursday, October 8 - Students whose last name begins with the letters I-Q
- Friday, October 9 - Students whose last name begins with the letters R-Z
- Monday, October 12 - All students return to school
Our safety protocols at school are focused on three main points:
Mask Wearing - All students and staff are required to wear a mask at school. This helps maintain the safety of all. Masks do not need to be worn when eating and drinking, and we will have opportunities for short mask breaks for students who need them. However, the expectation is that masks will be worn all day.
Hand-Washing/Hand Sanitizing - Students will be required to wash their hands when entering and leaving a room and before and after using classroom equipment. This will help reduce the spread of germs.
Social Distancing - Students will remain with their class throughout the day. They will not be mixing with other students at their grade level or other classrooms. Within the classroom, we will keep students as distant as possible, but because of the size of our classrooms and classes, we can not guarantee that students will be 6-feet apart.
Thank you for your patience and grace during this transition to back to school. We look forward to seeing students back at Maple Grove soon.
