A trip around Greenfield proves that its motto, “Pledged to Progress,” is true. Although it can trace its past to the 1830s, Greenfield is focused on the future.
See for yourself. You won’t have to travel far to see commercial, business, and residential developments under construction. A reconstructed and renovated Greenfield High School will soon be complete, practically across the street from the new Police Station. A new library is also in development. Greenfield continues to grow.
The reason is because the community has so much to offer. The 20th largest municipality in Wisconsin with a population of 36,000, Greenfield enjoys ample green space (as you might expect from city named “Greenfield”!) in its 12 square miles; affordable and diverse housing; the area’s largest shopping mall; and immediate access to Milwaukee, the state’s entertainment and cultural center. America’s Second City, Chicago, is only an hour away.
Greenfield is close to two major airports, Mitchell and O’Hare, an Amtrak station, several hospitals, and some of the state’s most well-respected post-secondary education institutions, including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Marquette University, and the Milwaukee Area Technical College, among others.
If you enjoy the outdoors, Greenfield is but a short trip to the Kettle Moraine State Forest. One of the most beautiful parts of Wisconsin, this enchanted area includes lakes, streams, camping, hiking, and swimming in its numerous parks and forests.
Affordable, attractive, convenient, and progressive, Greenfield has much to offer. For additional information, see the City of Greenfield website.
